One very fine feature would be, to be able to work
together with several people at one Mindmap.
May be, one could implement a feature, where the
program running on one computer could act as server and
others could connect to that server.
Then everybody connected to the 'server-freemind' can
work together at the same Mindmap. Everybody sees the
same Mindmap in his running freemind and everybody
should be able to do changes to the Mindmap so, that
everybody else also sees the changes.

This is an obvious feature. I'm afraid it is no so easy to
implement and it is not so conceptually simple. We would
probably need to implement some locking mechanism on the
node level and make it clear which operations on which nodes
are locked, when one user edits a node.

It is interesting to note that the original author of FreeMind
Joerg Mueller has already implemented such a server, but he
    had not published the server.

another way to approach this would be to integrate Freemind
into a wiki like system... Tikiwiki comes to mind first
because I use it daily but a Wiki or CMS would provide a
    network to connect into Freemind.

If you are so willing there are plenty of people at
    irc://freenode/tikiwiki
that are available to help you integrate freemind into
    TikiWiki :)
