Hey Freeminders,

I needed text notes to my mind map nodes.

What I did:
1. add a new tag for a node, named "nodetext"
2. add a textarea into the mindmap view
3. add a String to NodeModel that contains
the text
4. update the String onChange of the Textares

Attached you find a ZIP-File that contains
the changes I made to freemind in order
to achive the goal.
I am already using it - it makes fun.

Changed lines are markeb by a "#" at the
beginning of a line.

bye, Lukasz

Hm, sorry. It is the first time for me to
suggest a patch. Obvisously I have choosen
    the wrong approach.
    What should I deliver?

I now packed the whole sourcecode, including my
    changes into freemind-with-nodetext.zip.
You can simply exract the zip-file and run ant.

i managed to implement your nodetext by following your
describtion, it was not too difficult ... works nice so far
... im going to play around with it a little

We may use this piece of coding in future, thank you. We
should think out extensions to mind map format carefully.

    Hello!

I got a problem with the compilled freemind-with-nodetext.
When starting freemind I got a "Panic! Error while loading users properties"
So I tried everything to rename the properties but I couldnt figure it out.
Where is the jar looking for the propertie-file ? I called it freemind.
properties, freemindproperties, userproperties, user.properties, etc. but
    nothing works :-(

Would be nice if someone can help !

    Greetings from Marc

    hi Marc,

my user property file is in a directory called 'freemind' in
    $user/$home
it is called user.properties ... freemind should look for it
    in 'user.home+fileseparator+properties_folder ... hm

what freemind version are you using? how to get further
    information about your problem?

I'll copy this posting to 'Forums' as well, that might be a
more suitable place for this topic

    O.K
    I got it !
I tried to compile the source once more with ant and changed the
    freemind.properties to use user.properties.
Then I put the user.properties in the dist-folder and made a $ sh freemind.
sh . This works fine now.
The only things I am still missing is zoom and the keystrokes for the
patterns. This is my first contact with java-hacking that makes it a bit difficult
but I keep on trying :-)

    Thanks Marc

Another, more simple solution (GUI wise, that is), would be to
be able to collapse the text of the node to the first line.

To implement this, it would be neccessary to be able to add
line feeds in the text editor, for example with Shift-Return or
Ctrl-Return (like Word does in bulleted lists).
