first a Big Compliment
I'm using freemind since years on XP and Fedora. At home (linux) I have maps on an office server (vpn, samba share) and the line doesn't seem to be too stable sometimes. On the attempt to save a map sitting on the samba share freemind took it's time and after I returned from some other screens, freemind remained grey, blocked. After having killed and restarted it, I noticed the map, that had now 0 bytes on the samba share, but not autosave nor backup in freemind_home. It was the 2nd map I had opened and I did not edit it long enough for the 60000 what is the default value for autosave (milliseconds or whatever). I have the impression, that the first, automatically opened map always gets autosaved, but I am not sure.
I would appreciate an autobackup feature, toggable, probably like the one of emacs, one backup per session & file, at the first change of the file.
autosave saves maps in the [user_home]/.freemind only. It is not likely to corrupt maps.
