I upgraded From Java 6 (1.7)  to Java 7 (2.1) and I removed previous Java Components.  Freemind no longer works. It said I don't have Java. Please, if it needs to test Java, make sure, it will be able to detect new versions. So Forget GUID in registry. Use something else.

please provide a console output. What does java -version say?
    TIA, Chris

Hello, Freemind does not start since one or two weeks on my work laptop.
Is it possible that a recent mass upgrade of JRE has done this?
Symptom: click on the .exe, hard drive on for 2 seconds, then nothing at all.
Help! I have all my work in maps!
    Cheers, Renaud

please provide a log file (by starting the bat or sh file or on mac looking for the logfile in ~/.freemind/log.0).
    Regards, Chris

Hello, any news for me ?
    Bonne journée,

  • Anonymous - 2012-06-05

My problem was related to a corrupted installation of Java on my PC.
This has been fixed and Freemind is back on track!

I have the same problem: throws error:  backing up to Java6 fixes it for me.

freemind-bin-max-1.0.0_Beta_5 fixes it, I see those new libs work. Great work Chris!

It might not be the same bug but I have just installed 1.0.0 Beta 5 and FreeMind doesn't run. Nothing happens.

But when I add Java "bin" folder to PATH then it works. This doesn't sound necessary as "java.exe" is already on that PATH in C:\Windows\System32.
