HOW TO REPRODUCE:
1. When app is started (via Start Menu, d-clicking
EXE directly, or d-clicking an associated ".mm"
file), nothing appears to happen.
2. In the Task Manager, you can see the "javaw.exe"
3. Multiple attempts to execute launch app result in
multiple "javaw.exe" processes.
Fresh install of FreeMind 0.8.0, running on Java
Runtime Environment 5.0.7. Tried several JREs,
uninstalls, reinstalls, etc.
Execute "freemind.jar" directly. This won't allow
associated ".mm" files to open the app automatically
...for discussion amongst others that are having this
problem. It appears to be known problem amongst some
users, but hasn't been reported previously as far as
I can see - it cost me several hours of stuffing
around before I found others were having same problem
(hence this bug report).
#1! If new users can't run the software, they won't
bother to persevere & so throw it out. I only
continued because I had to (my boss uses it & sent me
a mindmap to expand upon). I'm surprised noone has
logged this before (don't think you can count the
MacOS & Debian posts...).
