#607 Stange conten in .dat file create with FreeMat

Good morning,
I'm new on freemat and I've a problem that is going to drive me crazy.
I create a file from freemat (for example a .dat file) but when I open in other environment (for example JEdit) the file content is complete different.
Pratical example:
I try with the example proposed in the following link: http://freemat.sourceforge.net/help/io_fopen.html
and it work perfectly, but if I open the .dat file that I've just created the content is š™™?š™‰@ff@.
