#606 missing libportaudio-2.dll in Freemat 4.2 install on Win8

I have installed freemat version 4.2 (32 bit) on Windows 8, I have an icon on the desktop (for an .exe application) when I click on it I get a window saying:
libportaudio-2.dll is missing and freemat can't open.
I looked in C:\ProgramFiles(X86)\Freemat and under the bin directory it shows that the file exists.
I tried a compatibility option with no results, Win 8 recommends reinstallating.
what should I do? please help
