When starting FreeMat in Ubuntu, the command window will appear, but the "-->" arrow is missing, and any commands entered into the shell are ignored. This is also true when executing .m scripts: when pressing "execute buffer" in the editor, the shell will just say "source '/path/to/file.m'", but not do anything.
At first I thought maybe Ubuntu offered a misconfigured package and compiled version 4.2 myself. When using it the first time, it worked and behaved as expected. After starting it the second time, the command window is broken again.

Sorry for filing such an unspecific bug report, but I lack the terminology to describe the problem more accurately.
