#522 get(gca,'position') broken in scripts or functions

I'm trying to resize the relative size of a figure position window using a function. When trying to use the command get(gca,'position') in either a script or a function, it always returns the vector [0.1300 0.1100 0.7750 0.8150], regardless of the actual values. If I use the command directly from the command line, it returns the correct values. I've confirmed this behavior in Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 as well as Windows 7. I've attached a script file that, when run, should provide the stated vector.
