#481 characters do not work in command window - MacOS specific

I am using the latest FreeMat version, downloaded and installed February 10th, 2010, on both Mac and Windows.
Using FreeMat on the Mac I can't type characters ^ and § in the command window. However, it works when using the editor window.
On Windows I don't have this problem at all.
