Why can't we travel into Mars Orbit after independence?
Weird.. I had no troubles attacking them as they all closed in on my territory. Man I hope the author of this game comes back day.

My units will not engage Earth forces. this kind of defeats the purpose of the game in my view...
Hi @arikande , Sorry it took me a year but my HD video tour is finally done! Hope you like it and I hope it brings more support to this great project! :)

Hi @arikande , I don’t know if this project is still going as it’s been over a year since the last activity but I hope it’s not dead as what you’ve created is truly amazing. I grew up playing Sid Meier’s Colonization and the Mars scenario in Civilization 2 so for you to combine these 2 things together into a standalone game is just a brilliant idea! Also reminds me a wee bit of Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri too which I loved. I help out the FreeCol project a bit with their marketing/media presence as...

Great updates, thanks. "Cant use units to attack earth force units, or conquered cities. Only defend. *-Cannot replicate this, can you please recheck?" I installed the new version, loaded an old save. Selected a mech that could move and had an earth infantry unit next to it. The only command listed was go to that tile. Not attack or anything. Next turn the mech still had a ongoing GOTO command and hadnt moved. Same thing for earth forces cities. Or is something wrong with my install. The independance...
It would be nice if transporters movement wouldnt be reset when loading unloading. It would lessen the micromanagement fuss. -Added in Version 0.8.7.5 How about, load all order? Reverse of unload. -Added in Version 0.8.7.5 Cant use units to attack earth force units, or conquered cities. Only defend. *-Cannot replicate this, can you please recheck? Attacking infantry seems to do nothing. -Will be fixed in AI update Cannot disband cities. -This is difficult to do in current game. Why disband colonies?...
More realistic population decrease ratio
Add Earth tax to unit sales
Resources at earth get "used" at constant rate.
Load all order for cargo units
Units not painted in newly explored areas
Water automation
Building the market destroys Mars Transit System.
Unit movement points will not reset after loading/unloading.
Clear tiles mission
Thank you for this excellent review :) I'll add the features and fix the bugs in the next version.

Cant use units to attack earth force units, or conquered cities. Only defend. Attacking infantry seems to do nothing. Cannot disband cities. Since resources at earth get "used" at constant rate. It seems best to only sell as much as they can handle. For example: iron gets lowered by 600 each month. So with bulk freighter if you...
Hello, I'd like to render some high-resolution fanart for FreeMars. Are the 3d models of the art available? For example, FreeDroidRPG's 3d models are in a separate repository: https://gitlab.com/freedroid/freedroid-graphics If FreeMars' art sources are not available: would be cool if it was but not worth anybody's time just for my use case. :) Thanks for taking the time to read.
Thanks. Can you have a look at the game help, "Marsopedia"? :) any ideas, suggestions are welcome.
Is there any way I could help?
It is still alive :) I have been working very hard for the past year, I couldn't do any update to the game :(
Thank you for the presentation, I'll fix them as soon as possible :)
There seem to be no updates for over a year, does it mean that the project is dead? I'd for one like to contribute to its reanimation. Sadly, I'm not much of a coder and I don't have any artistic talents to speak of, but I can do pretty much anything else (texts, manuals, story, lore, concepts etc).
On my Debian Stretch machine, I installed the OpenJDK Debian package (via apt), and made sure any other possibly needed libs were installed (such as JFX, and other commonly used libs). Then I had to go edit the "FreeMars.bat" t convert it in to a normal unix-style shell script -- change "javaw" to simply "java", and change the semicolon path separators in to colons (otherwise, unix shells will try to interpret the path components as additional commands, not path elements). Save it as "freemars.sh"...
