I recently tried to use the FreeImage libraries to read a
JPEG compressed image from DICOM file. I was able
to access the image portion of the file, but FreeImage
determined that the compression format was Lossless
Huffman, which is not supported. The marker code is
M_SOF3. Will FreeImage support the Lossless
Huffman encoding in the future (at least for
decompression)? Is there a workaround for this or other
software that can decompress the image? I am new to
the world of JPEG images, so I am just learning how
they work.

Unless you find a new leader, no work on freeimage will be
done

It seems that M_SOF3 is not supported by LibJPEG, so we
won't support it unless we can find a free decompressor for
this format. Perhap's a plugin for reading DICOM files would
help ?
