Calling the install target of Makefile.fip currently only results in libfreeimageplus-3.16.0.so being created, not the expected symlinks libfreeimageplus.so and libfreeimageplus.3.so.
I'm not sure why anyone would have differing opinions on this subject. As it is, it is entirely inconsistent anyway: Makefile.gnu installs symlinks, Makefile.fip doesn't. The fix is trivial and I can't find a reason why anyone would disagree.
