My plan is to get the GLUT font capabilities working as is just to get my project* off the ground, then pull in FGLT on top of FreeType for super-duper font support. Freeglut might want to take the same approach, to avoid duplicating that substantial effort. Caveat: I have only just begun to dig into FGLT/FreeType, so I cannot actually vouch for this solution at this point. I did d/l and build FGLT and run against FT2, and the demo looks fine and worked with any TrueType font on my system. Oh, the demo uses GLUT, btw. I was also impressed to see FGLT comes with Mac OS X ProjectBuilder files. I am just looking at the glut stroke stuff now. kt * My project is a portable GUI for Common Lisp, based on Glut-- Apple's Glut on OS X, Freeglut elsewhere. So I need full support of fonts, including anti-aliased. k -- http://tilton-technology.com Why Lisp? http://alu.cliki.net/RtL%20Highlight%20Film Your Project Here! http://alu.cliki.net/Industry%20Application |
