In fact, I recently ripped out all the > automake/autoconf/libtool stuff from Mesa. automake, autoconf should just work as long as we build in the proper tests. Libtool can be a nightmare but the most recent release is much better, at least as far as Win32 support goes FWIW PLIB relies on automake, autoconf *not* libtool and seems to compile just about everywhere OpenGL is supported. It's build system doesn't support shared libraries but IMHO that isn't required for small libraries like freeglut $ ls -l libfreeglut-1.3.a -rwxr-xr-x 1 nhv None 107264 Jul 1 17:03 libfreeglut-1.3.a We could just 'borrow' what we need from PLIB's configure files and have a non-libtool static libraries only build system that should be quite portable > I just checked in a few version tweaks (i.e. make libfreeglut-2.0.so > instead of libfreeglut-1.3.so, etc). I am sure you meant libfreeglut-2.0.$(SO_EXT) :-))) Cheers Norman |
