Did you come to any decision about handing over freeglut
to a new maintainer?
I've been talking to the small army of good people who
help me maintain my PLIB library - and as a team, we are
very interested in taking over freeglut.
We have been talking in terms of taking freeglut 1.x.x
and maintaining it as a GLUT clone - finishing off the
odd few missing parts and keeping it as a SourceForge
project in it's own right.
We'd like to make freeglut 2.x.x be distributed as a
component of the PLIB library suite - where GLUT
compatibility would no longer be a primary issue and
we could do things like merging the freeglut and PLIB
joystick drivers and GUI elements into a single unified
We would of course continue to give you credit as
author and maintain the present license arrangements.
Please let me know what you decide.
I use freeglut for quite a few projects - and I certainly
don't want to see it die.
