What are the outstanding problems with freeglut?
Things I know about (for mainly the X11 verion) are...
The soname. I think we should leave this one for a bit.
It crashes if the DISPLAY environment variable is not set.
The main loop never sleeps, it seems to really suck on those cycles
when it has nothing to do.
The modifier values differ from glut.
No key up events and missing special keys.
Some of the callbacks that should be global are per window.
Needs more geometrical shapes.
Anyone know of anything else?
I'll get to fixing what's left of that at the weekend.
It's not really practical for me to do much during the week.
As well as those things there are some things I'm not too happy with...
The internal symbols pollute the application namespace. They are all in
the form of fgSomeThing. This is far too generic. They should at least
be prefixed with an underscore or two.
It uses OpenGL to render the menus. This can cause problems.
The code is full of assert()s. I just have a problem with assert().
The source tree could do with a bit of reorganization.
