I find the inconcistent behaviour of accessing Shift, Alt and Ctrl via a separate interface strange compared to the rest of the keyboard IO. It is to my knowledge not possible to identify the exact point in time when the state of these keys change, whilst the same is possible for pretty much any other keys on the keyboard. If these were added the whole keyboard could be accessed coherently, which would be useful for input handling in general. (Although, here I disregard buttons such as PrintScreen, Pause/Break, Caps Lock, Num Lock, et. al. which may also be useful to have access to at some point, even if they're not commonly used. )
