Hi there.

Sorry if this is a FAQ. Are there any .debs for your
libraries? It'd be excellent if it could be incorporated into
Debian and other dists.

If you know of any un-official debs, that would be
excellent also.

There is a cool game called Torcs which when compiled
with Freeglut is awesome. But when compiled with the
old Glut, fullscreen mode is wonky. So, your package is
very much appreciated. Thanks! :-)

Thanks in advance,
D.Radel.

Debian packages, RPMs, and a Gentoo ebuild are planned, but
we want to get a solid 2.0.0 release first. Glad to hear it
    works for you!

So I was going to post a feature request on the tracker for debianizing the source to allow for package generation for Debian / Ubuntu users. A lot of us learning the new OpenGL 3.0/3.1 API rely heavily on FreeGLUT to facilitate the tutorials in the new 7th Ed of the Red Book. The problem is that the package maintainers for most distributions (e.g. Jaunty) are too far behind in pushing the newer binaries from upstream. Adding debian/ to the source tree will allow people needing the packages to continue getting their work done.

It seems as though, given the previous antiquated but relevant comment, now might be a good time to do this.
