I just built 2.0.1 for Fedora Core 1 (Linux). The
distro ships with 1.3 and that is no good for building
apps as it doesn't contain glut.h.

So I got it built and installed, and went to build
Glaxium, which now works :-)

Running the binary gives the error:
glaxium: freeglut_state.c:134: glutGet: Assertion
`fgState.Time.Set' failed.
Aborted

Here's the strace output:
write(1, "No SDL joystick found...\n", 25No SDL
joystick found...
) = 25
open("/home/andyp/.glaxiumrc", O_RDONLY) = 12
fstat64(12, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=7, ...}) = 0
mmap2(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE,
MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) = 0xb6a35000
read(12, "2 8 2 1", 4096) = 7
read(12, "", 4096) = 0
ioctl(6, 0xc0444635, 0xbffa5d44) = 0
close(12) = 0
munmap(0xb6a35000, 4096) = 0
write(2, "glaxium: freeglut_state.c:134: g"...,
77glaxium: freeglut_state.c:134: glutGet: Assertion
`fgState.Time.Set' failed.
) = 77
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, [ABRT], NULL, 8) = 0
tgkill(28470, 28470, SIGABRT) = -1 ENOSYS
(Function not implemented)
tkill(28470, SIGABRT) = 0
--- SIGABRT (Aborted) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGABRT +++

Any help would be appreciated!

OK I read the mailing list about this at
    http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=3461573&forum_id=6251
    (I'm not subscribed)

I looked into the code for Glaxium - I am not the author -
and found a commented-out call to glutInit()
This has worked like this in the past on RedHat 8, but not
    building with freeglut.

Adding that line back in has allowed me to recompile and run
    the game.
