#104 glutInitDisplayString doesn't work.

When using any of the comparators described here:

http://pyopengl.sourceforge.net/documentation/manual/glutInitDisplayString.3GLUT.xml

Freeglut complains with:

freeglut (./scene_trans): WARNING - Display string token not recognized: stencil=2

(Or whatever token you used). The following works:

glutInitDisplayString("stencil");

This does not:

glutInitDisplayString("stencil=2");

The problem is not unique to "stencil". No comparators work for any attributes.

This means there is no way to set attributes such as the number of multisample samples.

This also means I can not use GLUT for my current project, which is a shame.

Thanks anyways for trying,
Looking forward to an update less than 3 years old,
Jason

    I can confirm also seeing this kind of problem with applications originally implemented to use GLUT, rather than freeglut.

    Thats right, comparators were never implemented. If you can modify your sourcecode, you can specify many of the values with glutSetOption however...

    This is something to be fixed eventually, but will be rather a lot of work
