My paper describing the exchange implementation in FreeEOS is now available
from http://freeeos.sourceforge.net/exchange.pdf. Note, it is important to
implement exchange as correctly as possible because, in general, it is the
3rd most important non-ideal effect (after pressure ionization and the
Coulomb effect) that affects stellar models.
Especial points of interest in the paper are new approximations for the
exchange integrals, an approximation for the necessary transformation from
the exchange component in the grand canonical partition function to the
exchange component in the free energy, and illustrative figures.
Critical reading of this paper would be much appreciated.
