i set up freecs under the default settings with no problems. but, when going to login it always returns to the start (login) page the first time you attempt to login. if you re-enter your nick the second time it works correctly. its more of an annoyance than anything, and it may confuse friends who try to login. i thought about putting a message on the start page to let them know to do it twice.
This sounds like you have another DNS-Name for your box, which is automatically retrieved by Java. This Server-Name will be used for cookie-domain ber default. To use another DNS-Name than the default, set the config.cfg-property:
server=your.dns.name
