I just want to let everyone know that it has worked for me as well !!!!  :)
This was the best way to start 2004  :D

I have a Freecom Classic Series CD-RW 4x4x6 USB with a TEAC CD-W54E drive inside and I was limited to burn on OS 9.x .
For months I tried everything with no success, like firmware update (1.1B to 1.1Y), software updates, patches, etc. After a while, I came to the conclusion that the problem was not the CD-RW drive but the USB-IDE Controller (the board that exists behind the drive) since I've opened the plastic box, took the drive, connected it inside a G4 tower (running OSX) via IDE cables, and it worked!!
But through the native USB connection the drive was not recognized by Toast until I finally ended up in this page, which made my day!

I installed the FreecomTravellerUSBDrive1.0.1, provided in this site, on my iMac DV G3 Special Edition that is running OSX 10.3.2 and I succefully burned a full CD at a selected speed of 12x with Toast 6.0 Titanium. Of course I did this not with the original TEAC drive but with a LG 40x12x40x one. Yes, I've exchanged the primitive drive with this faster one and it works just fine (in Windows too) with the plus of having the BufferUnderRun feature available. (However I've noticed that the speed selected will not be the real one.)
CD-RW drives are so cheap these days that it is worth it of buying one just to make this "upgrade". (And the whole package will become lighter.)

So, here's my sincere thanks to Bernd Heller that has created this Masterpiece of software for us.
I will definitely spread the word. I already have at least a friend with the same problem so I'll start by helping him out.

Thanks again for all you've done.
Happy New Year for everyone!
