Hi!
I tried the kernel extension with the drive
"Freecom classic Series Drive in USB" which features a Teac Burner.

The drive is recognized as a burner and works fine as a CD-Rom-drive.
However, trying to burn with Toast the drive doesn't actually start burning but locks up (as toast does).
The drive does blink with the "burning LCD" even after being disconnected from the USB Port, so this looks like drive crash to me.

I tried this on different machines with Mac OS 10.1.4 and Toast 5.1.2.
