For those that actually do visit here (in)frequently, FreeBurn progress has been moving along, but very slowly. My time to spend on development is very limited now, but I do work on FreeBurn when I can. However, unless I either get more time to work on FreeBurn or another developer steps forward to help, progress will contine to be very slow, and who knows if there will ever be a real release. I'm not saying FreeBurn is dead, but don't expect to see anything substantial here for a while. If you want to play with what's done, you can check out the code in CVS and build FreeBurn yourself (there isn't anything worth using, yet...). If you want to contribute, please just send me an e-mail. Thanks for everyone's interest.
My current source tree now exists in CVS for anyone to access. I will now be making all my changes to the FreeBurn CVS tree. Progress is moving ahead, but slowly at the moment. If you are interested in contributing in any way (coding, graphics, testing, etc.), please shoot me an e-mail. This is currently a one man show, so progress can only be made when I have the time to work on it.
I have been actively developing FreeBurn again, and using FOX for Windows and Linux versions, so ignore most of the stuff on the website about GNOME and such. More details will be here as I make them available, or you can e-mail me if you have any questions.
The FreeBurn website has officially launched! You can find all the information you would ever want to know about FreeBurn, CD creation, and more. Please take some time to explore the website, and let me know if you have any feedback on the site, good or bad. Also, the first alpha release of FreeBurn was released a few weeks ago. Go to the download page to get it.
Thanks to a little PHP scripting, a theme engine has also been built into the FreeBurn website. At the moment, there is only one other theme available other than this theme. The "stripped" theme is a very stripped-down version of the website, with most of the fancy formatting removed. You can try it on a PDA or even in your own browser if you'd like. In the future, more themes will be available, and all you'll have to do is add "?theme=[theme name]" to the web page URL. ... read more
