Fractal View 1.2 is in Development

1.2 is going to be a massive rewrite of 1.0.3 (from a Frame to a Canvas). What does this mean to users? A -REAL- windowed mode, an applet, menus, possibly better performance... and more. What else is in the future? Possibly an expression compiler (from the Ultra Fractal standard to java threads). Feel free to request more features in the forums.

Fractal View 1.0.3 Release & Release

Yesterday the initial release of 1.0.3 was made public. Today there was a fairly significant bug in 1.0.3 fixed. If anyone downloaded the first version, I urge you to try again. The error (for those that wish to know) was with the new thread code. It didn't handle fullscreen correctly. If you want the bugfix but not the mojor download feel free to use CVS on version 1.11 of FractalView.java

Fractal View Nears 1.0.3

With a new outlook on user color selection 1.0.3 promises more colors for rendering. There is also a new borderless window that allows for more interesting linux usage. Of course there is always the standard collection of bugfixes and code optimizing. Look for this release by the end of this week.

Fractal View 1.0.2 Release

With a few modifications this should now be working on Linux without too much fuss. According to my alpha tester there is one issue (which probably 'exists' on windows in a non-practical way) that isn't anything but a refresh problem. Now that most bits of this project are up and running it remains for you users to direct this project towards something new. I am contemplating a bit of a rewrite on the interface. Other than that the feature request forum is open, so feel free to use it.

Fractal View 1.0.1 Released

After some quick changes there should now be some real support for non-MS Operating Systems. If someone can send me an e-mail in the next four days that tells me they have run it on another OS I would appreciate it. This e-mail should include the OS and JRE used. Thank you.

Fractal View now on Sourceforge

This project was started as a personal experiment in fractals and grew to the point where I found it to be worthy of posting. For those of you interested in helping out it seriously needs to have both the windowed mode and more universal OS support. If you have any brilliant ideas post them in the forums and I will review them. If you have so many brilliant ideas you make some derivative work I would love to hear about it.
Happy Hacking,
~OStone
