#2 Editor 3.3.0 freezes: some nodes can not be selected

We use a specific xsd Schema to sert up our own engineering process. it is crafted to work with the editor.
sometimes it happens, that in the user interface some subsub-nodes can not be selected/marked correctly and therefore on the righthandside of the user interface not content is displayed / the attributes on the right side for the 'to be selected'-node can not be edited.

Seem to happen on some specific nodes of 1 or 2 types. All other types of nodes do work well.
Problem can be worked around by closing the xml-file and closing the editor itself. In most cases after reloading the file in the editor it works again.
The problem occurs on specific element types: if it disapears on element 1 of type X it can be reproduced on element n of type X in the same editor instance.

- We use java 1.5 and 1.6
- We are not able to migrate to current editor version > 3.3.0 because we need to embed PNG-graphics in our texts

-> Ever seen this behaviour before? Please help, several editors would love to get rid of these problems.
