Well as production of Ridgeback (IE. FotoHound 1.1) steams ahead, a few bugs have stuck their ugly little heads up in the 1.0.x branch.
The first update releasing 1.0.1 was a fix to patch some very minor flaws, that could cause very big problems. They would produce white screen errors, rather than giving error messages.
Then today the 1.0.2 release fixes a packaging error in the 1.0.1 release, and adds one more problem detector. We now check to see if the pictures folder is readable by the PHP script. This should allow much easier diagnosis of problems in configuration. We also fix a minor configuration bug.
This is a simple update recommended for all users who have had any problems with FotoHound configuration.
Now, on the note of FotoHound updates. As I've said before in November, we will be dropping support officially for PHP4 in FotoHound. This is now set in stone. The PHP team has announced on their web site that THEY will drop support for PHP4. I suggest that all of you with PHP4 hosts direct them to php.net and have them read that article. The official PHP team is pushing forward, and everyone should push ahead with them. In the 1.1 release we will begin bundling a quick help sheet for PHP4 users, with information on how we will support PHP4 users and old versions of FotoHound even after we have moved to the 1.3 release later this year. We will support you guys with the older versions, so do not worry.
The 1.1 release is just around the corner guys, it should be out sometime around the 27th of July, give or take 4 days.
