I think I want to make use of the NewUserPlugin to automatically setup
WikiUsers for people in LDAP. However, the documentation for the
NewUserPlugin is not very good and I'm unsure exactly how to use it.
Can anyone explain further?

NewUserPlugin, once installed, will check automatically if an authenticated
user has got a proper profile page already and will create one if there isn't one yet.
That's normally done by the registration agent as part of registering process on a
Foswiki site. Not so when users are imported from an LDAP directory or any other
external source. That's when you need NewUserPlugin.
The only configuration parameter is the NEWUSERTEMPLATE preference variable.
Set it to a custom value in your SitePrefrences. It points to a template
to be used for new profiles being created.
The plugin comes with an example template that makes use of LdapNgPlugin to render
a header on a profile page using account information queried from the LDAP directory.
There are some additional helpers coming with NewUserPlugin to help writing
custom NEWUSERTEMPLATEs. See http://foswiki.org/Extensions/NewUserPlugin#Syntax.
Hope that helps.
