No

We would like to have our Git code repository private and not accessible by anyone other than members of our project. Is this possible? Thanks!

We do not allow or support private repositories. Hence, that is not possible.

This page suggests it is possible:

    https://sourceforge.net/p/forge/documentation/Create%20a%20New%20Project/?version=30

Quote, "To make a project private, click Remove next to the anonymous user. This will mean only project members will be able to access this project; it won't be available to the general public."

    Hello,

Private repositories are meant to be used to set up a project before going live. As such we don't support it. While it is possible to hide the project as a whole, or even the git repository (on the page browsing side), we do require projects to remain open source.

    Thanks,
    SourceForge Support

    Hi,
I have seen the link above. The the link which is mentioned for user permissions just leads to the project homepage. Moreover on the step 3 on the section "To make a project private or public"
    it says
"To make a project private, click Remove next to the anonymous user. This will mean only project members will be able to access this project; it won't be available to the general public."
Unfortunately i do not see this option currently to remove. Does this mean that the anonymous user cannot be disabled and repository is public by default?

Also, in the current layout in the admin permissions, there are three actions "create", "update" and "admin". Again, unfortunately, it is not easy to understand what they mean. For example, if I enable "update" for anonymous user, what does it mean?
Sorry but all this is confusing for me.
    thanks

As I understand it, Sourceforge gives you free hosting for public (typically open source) projects. If you have a private project (e.g., a commercial one), you will have to find a different place to host it.
