#6347 500 error with large number of repos

Another followup from the cygwin-ports upgrade:

/p/cygwin-ports/admin/tools and (intermittently) other pages under /p/cygwin-ports/ are showing the 500 error page, where the same pages for fedora-cygwin display correctly. I suspect that there is a bottleneck in the code triggered by the sheer number of git repos in cygwin-ports.

BTW, this means that with a fix for issue 6309 committed but not yet deployed, I am currently unable to create repos with underscores at all, not to mention fixing the ordering of some repos created before the 'alpha_tool' fix.

With 6309 fixed, my primary concern now is realphabetizing the repos (is there another way to do this?) and fixing my Donate link.

Thank you for this, that error definitely seems like a timeout issue to me. I'm escalating to our engineering team here: [allura:tickets:#7051]

    Hello,

We've added paging to Admin -> Tools, and it'll load now.

That said, it may still be a bit difficult to re-order, but it should be possible. Especially since you can now use "page" and "limit" URL parameters on the tools page to change which ones are displayed. eg. https://sourceforge.net/p/cygwin-ports/admin/tools?limit=30&page=2

I'm still getting sporadic 500 pages on admin/tools and _list/git, and other pages (e.g. git browsing) are still slow to load. I did manage to fix my Donate link, but is there an easier way to do a one-time re-alphabetization of the repos?

We will continue to work on performance, however, your project is a corner case, so we may not be able to directly address your project's performance problems.
