#4906 How to view javadoc w new sourceforge environment

fixed
OpenAz
2015-10-08
2013-07-31
No

In the old sourceforge environment, which thankfully is still there for reference, and hopefully won't disappear anytime soon, I was able to give users of the OpenAz project a URL that would point them directly to the javadoc. For example:
http://openaz.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openaz/branches/RB-1.2/openaz/test/doc/index.html

However, w the new environment, I have not been able to figure out how to do the same thing. For example, I have updated the code in the above mentioned branch (using the new environment), but all I seem to be able to do is view the source files for the javadoc, and not the javadoc itself thru html. For example to try to do the same as above, I would first go to:
https://sourceforge.net/p/openaz/code/HEAD/tree/

then navigate down to the specific file:
https://sourceforge.net/p/openaz/code/HEAD/tree/branches/RB-1.2/openaz/test/doc/index.html

At this point I am stuck. Note, w the old system, before I got to the link identified above, I would do the same process: start at the top of the repository:
http://openaz.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openaz/

Navigate down to the file of interest:
http://openaz.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openaz/branches/RB-1.2/openaz/test/doc/index.html?view=log

Then I could just strip off the "?view=log" at the end of the URL and see the javadoc as described above.

However, w the new environment there is nothing to strip off. Maybe it has to do w the "viewvc" in the old URL, that is not in the new one?

Any help would be appreciated, right now I have to tell users to download the tarball and look at the javadoc on a local storage location, which is a nuisance.

Thanks,
Rich Levinson

    Greetings,

We have work planned to support this officially. This is ticketed here: [allura:tickets:#5772]

That said, I have not tried this myself, but another user did mention a workaround that might be worth trying. He stated that, if the appropriate svn prop is set (svn:mime-type text/html), then you can use the standard svn URL to show these in html. eg. http://svn.code.sf.net/p/eulergui/code/trunk/eulergui/html/

So, if you set that property on the appropriate files on your repositories, URLs like http://svn.code.sf.net/p/openaz/code/branches/RB-1.2/openaz/test/doc/index.html should work (instead of just showing the raw html).

    Regards,
    Chris Tsai, SourceForge.net Support
