#4797 e-mail notification missing for new ticket

Hi,

when ticket sf.net/p/metaf2xml/support-requests/26/ was opened I didn't get a e-mail notification, though I'm subscribed to this tool and I was set as the owner of the ticket. I did receive the e-mails about my added comment and the status change, a few minutes after I did it.

It would be very bad if this mechanism is unreliable, because in Allura it is impossible to get an overview over recent activities, as in the Classic version (the famous Developer tab). To see what's new, I now have to check 6 different web pages (4 x Tickets, Discussion and Code); this is quite annoying.

Please fix this deficiency and/or provide a way to get an overview over activities, like new tickets, changes to tickets, new topics in Discussions, new comments in Discussions etc. as we had in Classic. The wiki markup "project_blog_posts" is insufficient, as it only shows News entries, which only I create, anyway.

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Thomas

Is this the only one that's missing? We were tracking this issue ourselves, but believe it to be fixed as of a few hours ago (ie., the notification you mention would have been in the believed affected timeframe). We are also working on finding the notifications that failed and resending them.

    Thanks,

    Hi Chris,

yes, the only one. However, there was only one other opened since migrating, and it was opened before no. 26.
Actually, I wanted to wait with my reply for the missing notification, but I still haven't received it. By now I would have checked the ticket pages, anyway.

I think one week is quite long for a user seeing that her/his ticket is still unread. What are the chances to have back the feature "overview over recent activities at a glance"? This would make my life a lot easier. Or does SF want us to have to visit more pages, to increase the number of visited pages? OK, you don't have to answer this :-)

    Kind regards,
    Thomas

We do have plans for an activity stream page, and some work has been done on it, but it has been put on hold for other initiatives for now. You can see the tickets for that here: https://sourceforge.net/p/allura/tickets/search?q=labels:activitystream

That said though, I'm closing this ticket out as the notification issue seems to be fixed now.
