Please get rid of user names and make them part of an optional profile. Web sites stopped using usernames years ago, everyone logs in using their email address. If that is too difficult make it possible for user names to be the same as one’s email address.

Thanks for a good long running web site. If you want some material to beat GitHub, tell persons that git can not be trusted as it is the “stupid content tracking system”; I use DARCS.

    How about letting one login with one’s email address rather than username. If the username is not found match it against the email. If there are two users with the same email that would be an login error.

    “stupid content tracking system” is the sub-title from git’s man page.
