Synfig Studio is an advanced 2D vector animation software. It is highly competent and very versatile with a value node system where almost anything can be animated. Different values can be connected and complex math formulas can be used to create intricate relationships.

As for development we are unfortunately a bit short on developers. We have one main developer who is right now porting the whole render engine to Cairo, a huge job that leaves him with very little time for other coding tasks. Then we have one developer who is revamping the UI with the goal of a single window mode among other refinements. Apart from these we have casual contributors who applies a patch or add a feature here and there.

We in the Synfig community would very much like to see more developers, preferably you. :)

One of the areas that needs improvement is usability, to atract more users we need to be more user friendly, so here's a few suggestions from the bug and feature trackers that can act as good starting points for anyone interested in the project.

Synfig is written in C++.
