ASIL (Advanced Symbolic Instruction Language) in some ways resembles BASIC. It was derived from a BASIC dialect (AppleSoft), but its current syntax owes a lot to C, C++, C#, and Java. There are few pieces left that look like a BASIC dialect. Please see our project listing (https://sourceforge.net/projects/asil/) and our Wiki's homepage (https://sourceforge.net/projects/asil/wiki/home) for a list of features and a sample of the syntax.

I don't know how many people are needed. If you're interested in helping out, I'll add you to the project, no matter how much time you have. It would help if you already know more than one language. Just post in this forum so I know your Sourceforge ID.

Currently, I'm still fleshing out the syntax and could use some help double checking everything. The project has yet to have a single line of code written outside the wiki. Anything like a parser or compiler will end up as something along the line of a subproject. If I get some interest, I may create an IRC channel on Freenode for ASIL discussion.

    Hello,
You project sounds interesting and I would like to contribute to it. I am quite proficient with Java, and I know how to use C/C++. I'm still a student, but I'm sure I'll be able to help. I need to gain experience to give better impression to company (due to my lack of diploma I find it hard to be employ in a IT job). Therefore I will be active.

    Hi Will,
I would like to see what/where I can contribute. Can code in C, Perl, Python, PHP, Java & will need to refresh on Fortran, Pascal if required.
Also interested in any testing automation. Can do shell scripting for that or integration with CVS, GitHub etc. Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Fan_Tom.
