New programmer seeking experience in .NET/C#/WPF or any other newcomer-friendly project (no language preference).

Hello everyone. I'm a fairly new programmer, seeking to obtain more experience and a chance to work in a team. I started programming 14 months ago by taking community college classes on C++. I just graduated with my AS in Computer Programming in February of this year with a 4.0 GPA. During that time I've also attained a local Programming Certificate and a state-wide C++ certification. I worked with C++, Java, Python and x86 Assembly; however, after discovering C#, most of my time has been devoted to it. I haven't touched C++ or Java since August. However, I don't think it would be hard to convert my C# experience to any of other language. I'm a pretty quick learner and I've always been at the top of all of my classes during my college career. I applied to CSUSB for Computer Science major, so hopefully I'll have my BS in a few years.

Currently I work on WPF/C# business applications as a full time programmer. Unfortunately, that gig is temporary and could last anywhere from one more year to several more years (it all depends on the organization's needs). I'm a one-man team and most of the experience that I have has been obtained through internet and services such as Plurasight. I code and study every day. I want to learn as much as I can and get as much experience as I can, so that when this gig is over, I have a greater chance of landing a job (I have two kids and a wife to support).

My blog can be found at: It can provide an insight on my way of thinking and who I am.

I am fairly active on StackOverflow:

I have no experience in any sort of team projects beyond community college related work (outside of what I do for a living now).

I am open to any experience. Honestly, I do not care what framework or what language. I also do not care what the project is on, as long as the team is mature and dedicated. I want to test waters in every possible field to figure out what I like. At the moment it seems like AI, robotics and UI for Desktop applications is my thing, but who knows... I might find something that I like more. I never stop seeking new things to try.

I am very disciplined and I dedicate myself to the fullest possible extent to everything I do. Of course, I must devote some time to sleep and my family. I wish there were 48 hours in a day. :)

Just understand that if it's a language that I'm fresh in, it'll take me a little bit of time to adapt. I am not set on any one language, because I want to be versatile. My end-goal is to learn as many languages and frameworks as I can, so that I always have the right tool for the job.

In my free time, besides practicing coding, I mess around with rPi B and Uno R3.

Yes, I'm actually interested. I've been eyeballing Linux distros for a while and this will be a good way to get into it. If you guys don't mind a newbie, then I would love to learn and help.
