Each time I load sourceforge.net I get two annoying pop-ups:
The first is asking me to agree to Cookies use. Now I know you have to display
such a notification, but many other sites have it as a less intrusive bar on the top
or bottom of the page that is loaded right away instead of popping up and having
to be clicked away.
The other is asking if I want some kind of newsletter or additional notifications. I
don’t; and I’ve even made my browser accept your cookies indefinitely, so you
could remember that I don’t. Annoying customers is never a good business concept,
is it? And I wouldn’t even complain if I got the pop-up every like fourth time or so
I entered the site, or once a week, or whatever. But it’s just too much like it is.
Hi,
Both the cookie notice and the newsletter form should only appear once. Do you have any extensions or software or proxy that might disrupt cookies? If you want to look for a specific one, the
suppressNewsletter
cookie is set after you dismiss the newsletter form, and then the form shouldn't appear again.
