In our project ("esmf") we have a core list of developers (about 10) that we assign tickets to. However, there are many more associated developers out there with the project. The old ticket system under SF supported the admin to define (per tracker) which were the ids that you could pick from for the owner of a ticket. Please add some feature into the new system to restrict the list of choices when selecting an owner.
Also, when looking through a list of ~30 ids, it would be nice to have them in alphabetical order (of some sort, either id, or name), because right now it is very hard to find anybody quickly in a long list.
