Hi, I am trying to import some TLS scans and it shows up looking like there are replicated plots on multiple axes? Is there a file size restriction or some other reason this might occur? Thanks!

Hi,
are you importing single scans or already merged scan? There is no
restriction so may be some problem with importing data structure? try
to more detail description please

Hi Jan,
Thank you for your resposne. I have a text file with x y z positions separated by a space, so it looks like a set of rows with: 4.386276 -4.002029 -0.730759 separted by spaces. There is no intensity data. I also tried adding a fourth column of dummy numbers to import but had trouble with that too. How should I structure the import file? Thanks!
Colton

HI this should be ok for import. I just cannot imagine what you mean
by replicated plots on multiple axes. Maybe send piece of cloud or
screenshot that can show the problem

HI, oit seems to me, that there are duplicated points with mixed
coordinates. I have not seen anything similar before, so only my
guess...You can try to use lastools for creating las file and try to
import it in 3D forest and you will see if it is problem of 3d Forest
(if so, please let me know) or your data.

Hi Jan,
Thank you for the advice, converting my files to las worked. I will forge ahead without worrying about why those text files were wonky.
Just FYI, I took scans of a burned forest in California, USA and am working to quanitfy aboveground biomass and fuel heterogeneity. I look forward to working with your program
Thanks,
Colton

Here is a link to an image when I import a plot:
