HI, for now the only restriction is 64 bit win edition. But since whole cloud is loaded into memory in recent version and when vizualize it it copy itself again into memory. so I suggest to have at least 16 GB of RAM memory for pointcloud with 120 000 000 points and graphic card with own memory.

Hi,
I never compiled 3d forest on linux machine, but it should be quite easy. First install dependencies: VTK, eigen, Qt, Flann, libLAS, boost, and PCL. But form PCL I suggest to compile it rather than install from package, since I made some changes, that are not yet part of PCl code. my changes can be found here: https://github.com/janekT/pcl and if you have all installed, you can quite easily compile source code of 3d forest.

Are there any updates concerning system requirements/recommendations? Do you think a laptop would be good enough to run it or does one need to have a dedicated graphics card (and if so, how poerful)?

  HI, laptop can be fine, Just depends on RAM (at least 8 GB). 16 GB RAM is
  more recommended.For computation is better to have more cores in CPU but
  usually 4 is good.
