how exacly must be structured a point cloud extracted from Scene in order to be accepted from 3D Forest? A pts file for example
Hi, for now we use X Y Z Intensity fields in 3D Forest, so ASCII file containing those fields separated by space is working. Or you can import LAS files also.

Hi! First of all thanks for a good work - looks very promising.
I have a reduced point cloud (2cm density) originated from FARO - thus it has a structure XYZRGB. 3Dforest cannot import the file - "cannot parse imported file" and later gets the runtime error. Btw. the same runtime error I get opening demo with transects.
Thanks,
Jan
Hi,
since it crash with testing data i believe you have to cvheck the path to the project - do not use spaces in path (i use d:/3df-projects/ mostly) after this it should go.
And for your data - if you have possibility to convert it to las file or change the fields to correspond mentioned structure it could help.

The transect demo is not working neither in the root folder with short path.
Anyway just converting my cloud to las file in CloudCompare worked fine. Then I can import the cloud into 3DForest. Do you know some simple tool to cut off the RGB columns in point cloud? As in general there is no use of color for the analysis.
I am not aware of any tool that can remove RGB values from las file. And for the transect data can you describe me briefly how you try to import the test project?
