There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the SF interface to say thanks, so I'll post here. Thanks!

Got it running on Ubuntu with an Infinity In-USB2 foot controller, generating key presses to start/stop and skip back and forth in VLC. Works a treat.

I was a bit stuck at first because it defaulted to an incorrect input device (11, mine came up as 5). Would it be possible to improve this? Say, unplug the controller, scan the devices, plug it in, scan again, and see what's appeared? That would be possible, wouldn't it? After all, that's what I did manually. :)

The interface to set mouse clicks, which I started trying to do, was a bit puzzling. Set the dropdown to "Click" but then use what command? "1", "2" or "3" as it turns out, I was trying things like "BTN_1" which I saw in some part of the docs and wrongly guessed was what it was after.

But other than that, all good!

Glad to hear that you got it working.
The device detection is more robust in 1.3.0 and wouldn't you know it, I coded it and then forgot to post the update to SourceForge. Now I'll have to retest it, as I've forgotten exactly what changed and whether I finished testing it or not.
It requires python-wxgtk3.0 (wxpython version 3 Classic)
With regard to the "puzzling" bit, I found the xdotool instruction set a tad baffling at times as well.
      Regards
      Rolf
