Well this is possible. I never tried such thing. Actually I have never 
much used the Reference until now. Say when Reference is 0., offset 
values were doing what was supposed. My life would have been completely 
wrong otherwise.

Was the version I was using with my Linux machine not an openstep? It 
was one of the first ports, but I thought it was already openstep.

My planned strategies were closely related to this idea you offer. 
However, I don't think I will try now to get in touch with scripts, so 
I'll do the hard/dirty job myself. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
