#33 Edit Tab not working when in the glyphs window

Hi All,
This is the issue:
When launching the program I see the "Open font" window and I click New to create a brand new font. All good so far.
This leads me to a glyphs template, and I can click on each caracther which leads me to a window where I am supposed to be able to draw from scratch but also import SVG files. So far so good.
According to some on line tutorial, I should be able from this windw to clic on the top left File tab and this should show me a list of options where I could pick "import" from. And this is where the issue happens: when I single-cick File tb a brand new glyphs template opens. If I keep it clicked it does show me the list of options but they are not active.
Is there something wrong with my settings or hardware or something whent wrong when installing?
Please advice!
