Sorry about your topic being locked... I see it more
as an addon to phpbb than a fork!!
Here's another suggestion to improve this wonderful
program/
Is it possible that when a user sends a MP3 URL that
it creates a streaming M3U file? and save it in a
directory on the server?
See this tutorial.

This would make it better for slower connections to
listen.

actually forget that I realise now thats what it does - but
I was thinking of it more for the visitor to not see the
actual URL of where the file is located so it looks like
http://www.myserver.com/foing/thismp3file.m3u instead of
http://www.thismp3server.com/thisbandname/thismp3file.mp3
Is this possible?

This feature is already in the mp3 list. The 'buttons' left to the
song title can create a m3u or pls file. You can also create an
m3u or pls file with multiple mp3s in it by checking the boxes
on the far left, and select 'generate m3u/pls' from the 'with
selected' box.

Sorry, didn't read your follow-up.
No, I'm not going to implement actual m3u creation and
storage on the server. The m3u / pls files are created on the
fly, and that should be good enough.
You can, however, remove the download link from the
template and leave only the m3u / pls link in.
