Yeah, I know better I was just lazy. :) I've since set up a testdb and will
use that from now on for testing snapshots.

It should be safe to read/mark read from the older version, but *do not* run
> update on the older version.


Do you mean do not update the older db?  If that's the case, how will users
upgrade when 0.4 is released?
