[Fofredux-devel] "list only feeds with unread items" in todays snapshot

Using today's snapshot I was catching up on feeds. I had caught up on most
of my feeds with the exception of one that has several hundred artciles in
it which I will leave for later. I have a cron job to update FoFRedux every
half hour. I checked to see if there was anything new and it only showed the
one feed. I then de-selected this option and then there were six feeds
showing articles.


So in short, if I use the option "only one feed is shown" I see one feed. If
I de-select the option six feeds are shown with articles. I was using the
database on the snapshot and a my regular install of FoFRedux, which may not
be the best way to test a snapshot but I have never seen this problem happen
before doing that.

Let me see if I understand.  You checked the option: "list only feeds 
with unread items".   It only shows one feed with unread items instead 
of several.

Did you run install.php from the new snapshot?  I've added a few things 
to the db recently.   I don't recommend running two different versions 
of FOFR against the same DB.   It should be safe to read/mark read from 
the older version, but *do not* run update on the older version.

 I don't think so. I can restore from a previous backup I have and then run
install.php if that will correct the problem.

Yeah, I know better I was just lazy. :) I've since set up a testdb and will
use that from now on for testing snapshots.

Do you mean do not update the older db?  If that's the case, how will users
upgrade when 0.4 is released?

Do not use the older version to do feed updates.(get new items for 
feed)  Use the newer version.

I went back to the 0628 build and restored my database from a backup and
things are working fine again. I did not want to have to use two different
versions. One to read the items I had in the old DB and another for new
updates. I'll keep testing the snapshots but will do so with a test DB and
then when the new release comes out I will update my old DB then with the
new version.
