I have been struggling with this for some time. I hope someone can get me fixed! Debian Sid 2.4.21-acpi on a Toshiba 490CDT laptop. While fnfx started after boot works great I'd really like it have it run automatically. I have made root the owner of fnfxd and placed fnfxd into /etc/init.d: glenn@zulu:/etc/init.d$ ls -al fnfxd -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 12944 Aug 6 07:09 fnfxd glenn@zulu:/etc/init.d$ file fnfxd fnfxd: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.2.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped Next I did update-rc.d fnfxd defaults which puts links into the appropriate /etc/rc?.d directories. This should work- or at least it does for other scripts I want to run as root on boot. Unfortunately the machine refuses to boot after this and I have to remove the symlinks to regain normal operation. Has anyone gotten this script to run on boot? Thanks for any ideas. -- ______________________________________________ http://www.linuxmail.org/ Now with e-mail forwarding for only US$5.95/yr Powered by Outblaze |
